MAMA Joins Forces With Discovery Times Square’s STAR WARS: THE POWER OF COSTUME

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve felt the force of excitement that the new Star Wars movie has caused. The world is buzzing about Star Wars and we couldn’t be more excited! We partnered with the Discovery Museum to help spread the word about their Star Wars: Power of Costume Exhibit.

This exhibit “features 70 hand-crafted costumes from the first six blockbuster Star Wars films, this exhibition reveals the artists’ creative process—and uncovers the connection between character and costume. George Lucas imagined and created a fantastical world filled with dynamic characters who told the timeless story of the hero’s journey. The costumes shaped the identities of these now famous characters, from the menacing black mask of Darth Vader and the gilded suit of C-3PO, to the lavish royal gowns of Queen Amidala and a bikini worn by Princess Leia when enslaved by Jabba the Hutt. A special presentation for the showing at Discovery Times Square in New York will feature seven additional costumes from the highly anticipated film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Clad in their best Stormtrooper white, MAMA’s girls hit the streets of New York City to make sure everyone knew all the details about this out-of-this-world exhibit about the power of costume in Star Wars. Feeling the force of their mission, our brand ambassadors marched through Times Square to share an imperial discount. Whether in a team or solo, the striking and well-known imagery of the Stormtrooper, made this an exciting experiential marketing activation. Stationed outside movie theaters on opening weekend of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, our street team capitalized on the excitement that has been building for this new film.
